COVID-19 PREVENTION
Pandemic WIN is an initiative founded to increase the availability, acceptability, and use of COVID-19 public health information, education and services by priority populations in the State of Florida. COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can be severe, and has caused millions of deaths around the world as well as lasting health problems in some who have survived the illness. The WIN in Pandemic WIN stands for We Invest in Your Needs where the team members of this initiative uses growth mindset and fun educational COVID-19 tools and activities that break down barriers with community members in order to engage them and decrease vaccination hesitancy, translate health and science COVID-19 information to an active and functional health literacy level and promote overall healthy behaviors, and conduct/partake in community outreach events to spread the information of COVID-19. The main objective of Pandemic WIN Initiative is to utilize existing partnerships with the Department of Health (DOH) for Volusia County, Advent Health, United Way, CW Consulting, Outreach Community Care Network (OCCN), A Touch of Magic Inc, City of Daytona Beach, Community Pharmacy, community leaders, faith-based organizations and employers of essential businesses to provide the community with the necessary information, services and precautions individuals can use in regard to COVID-19.
Our goal was to showcase how people adapted to the pandemic and translate the science of COVID-19 into understandable information so that individuals and businesses can make informed decisions and stay healthy.
