D.R.I.V.E Boys
D.R.I.V.E is a student-led initiative that was created to spread awareness about depression and provide education to young adults and parents on where to find resources and seek treatment. Depression is defined as a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects one's emotions, cognitive abilities, and behavior and is generally associated with a persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest that characterizes major depression and can lead to a range of behavioral and physical symptoms that affect sleep, appetite, and energy levels. The D.R.I.V.E. initiative stands for Depression Requires Intervention Early where the team members of this initiative will attend local outreach events, develop social media content, establish a podcast, and refer the target audience to community partners for services. The DRIVE initiative's main objective is to bring awareness to the community about depression, targeting both parents and young adults, refer people to seek treatment and raise the number of evaluations taken for depression.
